Community Comes Together to Lift Up Family of Police Officer who Died from COVID-19

On August 31st, an unvaccinated police officer in Overland Park, Kansas passed away after a long battle with COVID. His name was Freddie Castro and he was 23 years old.

Though his death is tragic, how the community is coming together to support his widow and children is a powerful example of how important family, friends, and even complete strangers are in a time like this.

So far, over $7,000 has been raised to support Officer Castro's family and many others have left sweet notes for the family.
